I met a couple of girls at a Starbucks this afternoon, couldn't help overhear their conversation about marketing. Turns out they were having their first networking meeting to see if they could become strategic partners, from their body language it's pretty obvious that they felt comfortable discussing how they could cooperate in buiness.
Those meetings can be painful, I have met with a few other business owners that should stay in their cave, but on the positive side, many such meetings end up being extremely beneficial to all concerned.
One such meeting occured a few years ago. I met with Steve Jolly from SRJ Marketing Communications. Obviously a professional and dedicated business owner, and I'm sure he has had his share of growing pains. I respect his dedication sufficiently to include a facebook fan link.
